Once upon a time in a certain village, there lived Kongji (played by Tae-Ui).

One day, a stepmother (played by Jeong Chang-In) and Patzzi (played by Jae-Ui) moved into Kongji’s peaceful home. Because of the constant harassment from all the men hovering around Patzzi, who was the most beautiful woman in the world, Kongji ended up suffering every single day.

Then one day, Kongji ran into the Magistrate (played by Kim Jeong-Pil) at Patzzi’s birthday party. The Magistrate abruptly threatened Kongji to serve him as his concubine, saying that if she refused, she had to go and bring him the Dragon King’s liver. He added that if she failed, he would hand Patzzi over to a wealthy oil merchant (played by Raumaan) from the neighboring village.

But as for the Dragon King, wasn’t he infamous for being incredibly wicked and tyrannical, prone to causing tsunamis and devastating the surrounding areas at the slightest provocation?

Kongji decided she would rather just become the Magistrate’s concubine and was about to follow him. However, Patzzi desperately tried to stop her, swearing “over my dead body,” and in the process, Patzzi ended up going blind.

To pay for Patzzi’s medical bills, the stepmother sold Kongji for three hundred sacks of offering rice, leaving Kongji with no choice but to throw herself into the Indangsu sea…!

Figuring she might as well get the Dragon King’s liver since she was already falling into the sea, Kongji grabbed a passing sea turtle (played by Maurer), threatened it, and infiltrated the Dragon Palace.

However, betrayed by the sea turtle, Kongji ended up trapped in a maze inside the Dragon Palace!

After wandering the maze for quite some time, Kongji discovered a secret room heavily sealed with a triple-door lock. She somehow managed to get inside and found a man locked within.

The man seemed somewhat surprised to see Kongji enter, but he fed and gave shelter to the starving and exhausted Kongji.

Determined to rescue this mysterious man from prison—who was not only neat and handsome but also very sweet—Kongji made him a proposal: “Let’s work together to steal the Dragon King’s liver, sell it to make a fortune, and live a good life in the outside world.” The man smiled gently and agreed to join the plan, saying, “Aha… that’s a good idea.”

And so, the two finally sneak into the deepest, most secluded chamber—the Dragon King’s bedroom…!!!
