Vol 3 – Chapter 16: Playing with fire (18+)

Memories of the past suddenly rushed back into the mind.

While still in high school, Jeong Taeui participated in a movie research club. Of course, he doesn’t do grandiose things like research and deeply evaluate the values surrounding it, but simply watch a movie every week with his team members. At the end of each period, there would be a review of the member’s performance, so he had to write and submit something like a feeling about the movie. Three or four people will decide on a topic together and choose the film to write a review.

At that time, Taeui’s team decided on a film with elements of bloody horror mixed with a bit of the chivalric courage of young men of the same age. He remembers watching those haunting scenes of gore for two hours straight one Sunday afternoon after struggling to borrow a disc.

Jeong Taeui looked at the LCD screen, recalling those memories of his school days.

With the general training coming to an end, the final task is to edit the data during the training period and select useful parts to show to the members on the final day. Ilay took over the task, but he said it was annoying and handed it over to Jeong Taeui. He had to turn over a record of video recordings of the past 10 days of training.

Even though it’s only been 10 days, Gyoho has already selected and almost finished editing them, so now he only needs to review them for about three or four hours. Taeui doesn’t think it’s that difficult since 2 hours have already passed.

Back in the day, Jeong Taeui had to watch a movie that he didn’t want to see because of the review, in fact he could skip it because he didn’t care about his ranking in the club very much, but he couldn’t give it up on his own because it could directly affect the members other in his small group. Now, because of the gore scenes in the video now, he suddenly remembers those unhappy memories. In the scene the video is playing, blood and flesh are splattered all over the screen. At least one-on-one fights look a little less devastating. And he’s seen a lot of broken arms or traumatic brain injuries that have to be taken to the clinic. However, many videos were taken during free training, and in the fiercest battles, nine to ten cases had Ilay in them. < Ilay: Ehe >

Although no one was beaten to death, after watching the scene of 3 men in a row lying in a pool of gore in the video, Jeong Taeui almost no longer has any appetite for anything. He pauses the video and feels sorry for Gyoho for having to edit and re-edit these horrible things for the past 10 days. Taeui had only half watched it and his brain was already exploding. After giving his eyes a little rest, he was about to go back and watch it again and hand it over to Ilay.

Jeong Taeui scratched his head and bitterly smacked his lips. Suddenly he felt sorry for himself when he was caught up in this mess when normally he could lie down in his room and relax after a day of work.

He reached back and rubbed his tired nape of the neck, intending to go upstairs for a moment to breathe some fresh air. But as soon as he stood up, the phone rang.

The red light flashed. A non-internal phone call at this hour without listening to him could tell who was on the other end of the line.

“Uncle.”

“Are you okay?”

Who else but uncle Changin.

Although in all likelihood he was sure it was his uncle, there was a hint of invisible disappointment creeping in as Taeui still expected the person on the other end of the line to be someone else. He whispered in frustration.

“Is there something wrong?”

“Ah, I just called to see if anything happened. Are you still alive? Was this training helpful in any way?”

“Anyway, the videos here will be sent to you. No one died, only a lot of people were injured, that’s all. But it’s better than the previous joint training session. Because no one died.”

Jeong Taeui said bluntly, a small smile spilling over from the other side of the stethoscope.

“Yes, that must have been a great feat for him.”

Jeong Taeui doesn’t know if he’s joking or serious. He was silent for a while, Jeong Taeui had thought his uncle would say something else, but it didn’t seem like he was going to mention it. Maybe it’s because he’s not someone who would talk about important things on the phone like this.

“….- Ah, yes. I already received a call from that person.”

Jeong Taeui spoke seriously as if he had just suddenly remembered it. The uncle was also silent for a moment, then said: “Aha”, and laughed softly.

“It’s about time.”

To the uncle who only said those short words, Taeui replied.

“So what.” It seems that there is a reason behind the need to determine the time to do a task like this. He also didn’t want to ask for too much detail, so Taeui tried to suppress his words. If he didn’t want to mention it, it seems that the purpose of this call was really just to inquire.

Just when he thought he should end this dismal call here, the front door suddenly opened without any knock. Ilay accordingly entered.

Jeong Taeui was silent for a moment. Less than a few minutes ago, he was constantly appearing in a pool of blood on the LCD screen, which was now standing here looking clean and free of ceiling dust. A feeling of fraud is absolutely pronounced. It’s true that these two images are too opposite.

“Ilay…”

Jeong Taeui was about to ask him what was wrong when he realized that he was still holding a stethoscope. His uncle seemed to have heard the sound as well.

“Aha. Is he at your place?”

“Oh yes,….”

He said vaguely in a low voice and looked at Ilay with bullet-shaped eyes. Seeing Jeong Taeui on the phone, he didn’t hesitate but gently raised his eyebrows and motioned for him to continue the conversation. Then he spontaneously walked over to Taeui’s bed and lay down as if he were in his room. With nothing more to say, Jeong Taeui returns to the phone call with his uncle.

“Okay. I’ll see you soon. Remember to contact me if anything happens. Do you remember my phone number?”

Changin said with a signal that he wanted to end the bland conversation as if he had achieved his goal of asking about his nephew. Jeong Taeui nodded.

“Ah. I’ve written it down. But there’s no need to contact you anymore? I’ll be back here in a few days. Remember to take care of yourself the rest of the time and stay safe.”

Jeong Taeui spoke frankly, his uncle smiled and replied.

“I felt a bit confused when I heard those words, as if it would be difficult for me to return safely.”

Hearing such jokes, Jeong Taeui was sure that his uncle would return safely. He finally put the phone down.

Ilay lying on his side on the bed watching Taeui hang up the phone and then speaking in a languid voice.

“Instructor Jeong Changin?”

“Um.”

“Is something wrong with him?”

“……He’s probably worried about whether the only nephew here is still alive or not.”

He wanted to put the phrase “in a place where a murderer is roaming freely” in the back, but eventually swallowed the words with his mouth shut. Even though he thought his uncle wasn’t one to call around for such bland things, Ilay nodded as he understood.

Jeong Taeui turned half the chair around and sat across from Ilay. He was about to ask him what was wrong but his gaze was somewhere else. Right at a still image in the LCD screen on his desk.

“Hmm, are you reviewing the video data?”

It sounds like it’s someone else’s story. Jeong Taeui became mad as hell.

This was his job. But look at the way he casually pushed this job to him and bluntly said he had something else to do and then leisurely here now. A feeling of being led by the rogue nose flooded his throat.

“No matter how much I watch, it’s all gore, and every time your face is there. I didn’t even need to look at the description or look closely to know it was you. This is the paragraph that has just been edited.”

Jeong Taeui said bluntly. And then he thought about where he got such a big liver to stand in front of a brutal murderer who said such words. But at the same time there’s a little sense of accomplishment because of that. However, anyone who looks at it will think that his life must be desperate to want to die like this.

Jeong Taeui sighed and reminded himself not to play with fire anymore. Because it would be ridiculous to die at the hands of this monster when he was only a few days away from being freed from here.

Even though he didn’t want to, Ilay was a guest after all, so Taeui stood up and asked.

“What do you want to drink?… No, it seems there’s only water left. Do you want water?”

“No need.”

Ilay shook his head and pressed against the still-stopped screen. Once again, images strewn with flesh and blood mixed together began to move. He looked at the fight video between the members as if he were just watching a simple sports match. Jeong Taeui took out the water and took a sip. He watched him silently.

From this angle, Ilay indeed looks like a quiet and well-groomed man. But who would have thought this face could turn into a bloodthirsty maniac walking off that screen. Even if he had clearly witnessed both of these “Ilays” in front of his eyes, he had to doubt himself.

Jeong Taeui turned to look at the screen with the water bottle in his hand. The moment his gaze flickered over, the sight that caught his eye was the image of Ilay grabbing the head of a man bigger than him with one hand and slamming violently against the stone wall with an expressionless face. Blood splashed on all sides, and the man’s head as if nailed to the wall made a creepy sound.

Jeong Taeui whispered and frowned. He had watched a lot of gruesome things before without emotion, but this scene was still a scene that was not pleasant to the eyes at all. He would rather watch violent movies with realistic scenes. But then he looked at the screen with wide eyes and realized that he had seen this image somewhere. Well, it was the man who had the axe swinging across his thigh. It’s no surprise that his silhouette appears right next to him in the video. Ilay then said something and pulled out the axe stuck in the wall.

Okay, that’s it. He was already mentally prepared to be hit hard, but Ilay showed up and stopped them all. He helped him. He remembered bringing back the things that Ilay had said at that moment….

“For things like this, you like to bring trouble on yourself, don’t you…”

Yes, that’s exactly what he said. Seriously, in front of him, he has never been able to spit out pearls, not even a single word.

(*Spit out pearls: Say something nice)

Jeong Taeui turned back to look at the screen. The image still stops at Ilay. Objectively speaking, Taeui quite likes the way he holds the ax. It even looked very familiar to him.

“Think of it…”

Jeong Taeui suddenly spoke up and then bit his mouth tightly, once again sinking into the train of thought, the thought that had just flashed in his head disappeared without a trace.

Ilay glanced at Taeui’s expression of wanting to speak again thoughtfully, he returned to the screen again and spoke.

“At that time, thank you for helping me”

“…..Help you?”

Ilay tilted his head as if he didn’t understand what Jeong Taeui had just said. However, after chasing his gaze and looking at the screen again, he shrugged and said: “Wow.”

“I didn’t help you.”

Jeong Taeui seemed to have anticipated as soon as he said thank you that he would reciprocate. It must have been that Ilay wasn’t helping him at the time, he was doing it simply because the giant had targeted him beforehand, so he grabbed his head and slammed it against the wall like that, and it just coincided just when he was about to be given a brutal blow by him. Right. That’s all.

Although there is no possibility that this will happen, Jeong Taeui still subconsciously remembers what Xinlu shouted that day with his face like he was about to cry.

“He has dark intentions towards you! That bastard likes you!”

Taeui gently raised his hand to cover his mouth, rubbing his lips lightly with his thumb. Even though no one could read the thoughts in his mind right now, it still left him confused and struggling with himself to erase the memories from his head. He really wanted to be able to read other people’s minds to see what Xinlu was thinking that could say such things.

In the midst of the silence, the image of Ilay casually twirling the axe glided across the screen. Eventually, the scenes of gore passed and the disciplined friendly match finally appeared, freeing him from the bloody frames.

“But what brings you here?”

Jeong Taeui looked at the video intently and suddenly asked. In fact, he didn’t need to question it, because when Ilay had something to do, he would often call him or call him to his room. Sometimes Ilay would stop by his place and give him work, and usually he would just say a few words and leave. And now that Ilay was here and casually occupying Taeui’s bed like that, it could only be because he was idle with nothing to do.

He still does that sometimes.

Ilay would hover in front of his bookshelves and make tasteless arguments with him about the old books up there, sometimes looking at the fridge in his room, then other days simply coming to tease his ‘kid’ and release their desires together.

After that damn night, the number of times he came here and lured him to do so increased. A thought flashed through his mind, it looked like this crazy bastard was labeling him an ‘easy puppy’*.

(*Buddy: should be translated as an easy-going friend in this situation but I prefer to keep the puppy :D)

Now he felt it was too wrong to have easily ignored him in the first place. He had coerced him and didn’t even show any signs of remorse for it. Taeui had to lie flat in bed for a day or two. While he seemed to be standing at the door of death, that bastard would visit him in his spare time, then shake his head shamelessly and ask him, “Are you okay?” (Even if you really wanted to die, thinking about it would be absurd.) But he didn’t expect anything more from his taste, so he let it go easily.

Before and after that, Ilay used to “borrow” his body to release his lust with a casual expression. Each time it made him recall his painful memories and become angry. But in the end, his body could only succumb to temptations under his skilled hands and tongue.

He doesn’t know if any rape victim is as stupid as he is, a little embarrassed. For the first time he knew that he could easily succumb to such desire. Even though he tried not to get caught up in it, he belatedly realized he was the one who softened so easily to the bonds between people.

But the times Ilay did it anyway scared him to death. So to say he softened his heart didn’t seem enough. It seemed like his brain was starting to blossom too.

“Let’s see. Suddenly I wanted to read Hilsen’s Crusade, so I came to borrow it.”

Ilay paused for a moment at Taeui’s question and spoke as if he had just remembered the purpose of his coming here.

Jeong Taeui frowned and tilted his head.

“I don’t have that book.”

“Instructor Jeong Changin is there. I just sent it to him this spring.”

Jeong Taeui looked at Ilay with a confused expression. The key to his uncle’s room was still in his drawer, but that was another matter.

“It’s true that I often go to my uncle’s room when he is away…. However, it is also a bit impolite to take away things in a room that are not yours to lend to others. Did you tell my uncle?”

“Not yet… okay. Then I’ll wait for another time. I’ll borrow it when he comes back.”

“But if you want to thank me, I think I can receive a ‘proper thank you’ from you.”

Suddenly, Ilay said unrelated words. Jeong Taeui was still busy checking how many minutes were left in the video. He turned back to look at him and quickly realized that that was what he had just said to him a moment ago.

To say he wasn’t angry would be a lie. Looking at what Taeui has done for him so far, he has probably had to be thanked and apologized hundreds of times. But how many times had Ilay said it? He secretly wondered if he should calculate this debt with him now, but finally decided to keep his mouth shut because he still loved this damn life.

Taeui asked him again with a voice like holding bitter medicine in his mouth.

“So how do you want me to thank you?”

“Let’s see…. After listening to you and thinking about it, I don’t expect too much of what I can get from you.”

Ilay said as if he had thought about it seriously before coming to a conclusion.

Jeong Taeui glared at Ilay. It was true that the diamond spoon thing like him had nothing lacking that needed to be given by others. He had money and rarely needed the help of others. If he could, Taeui would like to share some of his humanity with him, but it wouldn’t be possible. (And even if he could, he doesn’t think this man would take it.)

“The easiest thing is the body. But it’s not new anymore because I can taste it any time I want, so it can’t be considered a proper thank you.”

Jeong Taeui looked at Ilay, thinking about whether there was anyone who wasn’t angry after hearing such words. Ah, there he is. He didn’t accept his words because he was used to his taste. A guy with an ugly brain. No, his brain was exceptionally good. Because as long as he didn’t open his mouth, he could easily cover up his disabled personality perfectly. When he uttered such words, his flawed personality was also manifested.

Once the impression of a person is imprinted, it will also be very difficult to change it. If the impression on a person is already cheap, then even if he reaches the top, that perspective cannot be changed.

Jeong Taeui felt a bit heartbroken when thinking about why he was looked down upon like that. Meanwhile, Ilay came forward, used one hand to hold Taeui’s head and started licking and sucking his cheek. Another hand kept rubbing the small bean protruding from his chest through the thin shirt.

“…..”

Xinlu was probably right when he said this bastard had dark intentions towards him. But this intention was strange, it didn’t seem like what he meant. But looking at his actions of belittling others like this, it seems that ‘dark intentions’ are indeed ‘dark intentions’.

Once again the new and old debt came alive in Taeui’s heart. Although he tried to forget about it because he thought he didn’t hate this man that much. But at times like this it explodes like rolling waves and then settles down quickly.

Jeong Taeui immediately clenched his fists. He seriously pondered for a few seconds whether to hit this bastard on the head. But in the end he quickly let go of his fist with his own sigh. Ilay seemed to have seen all of his thoughts and actions. He smirked faintly.

“Hey. I’m hurt.”

Jeong Taeui frowned and groaned. Ilay left his cheek and moved to Taeui’s indifferent lips. He pressed his tongue apart from his lips and began to suck on it. The fingers that were rubbing his chest seemed to gain strength and strength, his hands thickened and pinched his nipples hard. Lately he’s been enjoying playing violently with his chest and nipples to pull it apart and then admire his accomplishments again. Biting and sucking on it seemed to have become indispensable every time he acted. So there were times when he was in pain because his nipples were swollen all day.

When Jeong Taeui tried to remove the hand that was still roaming his chest. Ilay looked at him for a moment and smiled mysteriously before gently bringing his hand back. Then he reached for his sensitive ear and whispered.

“You see. It probably didn’t feel much at first here… No matter what I do, it just hurts, right.”

“What?”

“The beginning of pleasure is tameness…, don’t you feel it yourself? That sensitivity.”

Jeong Taeui frowned at Ilay’s words. At first he couldn’t understand the meaning of the words he said, until Ilay giggled and raised her hand to rub his nipples hidden behind his thin shirt.

“I mean, your nipples are standing up. They look so slutty.”
